With more than 200 years of collective experience in operating and maintaining distribution systems, our team works closely with customers to ensure the efficiency and reliability.


Krishnan Iyer, CPA, CGA – President and CEO – Krishnan Iyer is an experienced district energy and infrastructure executive with over 20 years of management expertise in leading teams and executing organizational change and growth, including strategy development, structuring, capital sourcing, and governance oversight. He has held senior leadership positions in leading companies across Canada, including Infrastructure Ontario, Borealis Infrastructure and Enwave Energy Corporate, where he increased the company’s EBITDA by 25 times over five years. Krishnan holds a Master of Commerce degree from Calcutta University.

Kieran McConnell, P.Eng., LEED AP® – Vice President, Projects and Engineering – Kieran McConnell has over 15 years of engineering experience in district energy, power generation, industrial water and energy management. Acting as an advisor to utility developers across North America, Kieran played a key role in the development of the Southeast False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility, including the feasibility, design, construction, operations and expansion of the system. Kieran holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University.

Diego Mandelbaum, P.Eng., LEED AP BD+C, Vice President, Business Development – Diego Mandelbaum is an experienced mechanical engineer specializing in district energy, electrification and low-carbon energy systems across industrial, commercial and institutional buildings. At Creative Energy, he leads the company’s growth and network expansion with a focus on technical excellence, client relationships and collaborative execution.  He previously served as a managing principal for Stantec, an international engineering, architecture, and consulting company.

Lori Parker, PE – Director, Operations – Lori Parker joined Central Heat as their Utility Distribution Manager in 2010, and was a key member of the team through its re-branding and re-envisioning to Creative Energy. Lori now serves as Director of Operations, over-seeing the distribution network. Lori brings 30 years of progressive experience to her role, including Chief Engineer of a steam plant where it had provided her with a broader perspective of the impacts of the plant through to the distribution system.

Nicole Victor, PE – Chief Engineer – Nicole Victor has more than 12 years of experience in power engineering, with a significant focus on logistics and planning. As Chief Engineer, Nicole ensures operational and worker safety, supported by her strong health and safety expertise. She is a graduate of the BCIT Power and Process Engineering program and holds a First Class Certificate of Power Engineering.

Amin Hassanshahi, AScT – Manager, Utility Design & Construction – Amin Hassanshahi has extensive experience with strategic leadership and management for the design, construction and repair of energy centres, including distribution piping systems, underground structures and energy transfer stations. He manages the implementation of district energy projects to ensure timely and cost effective connections, and played a key role in Creative Energy’s rebranding in 2014. Amin is a graduate of BCIT Engineering.

Ryan Mukuda, PE – Distribution Lead – Ryan Mukuda joined the Creative Energy team in 2011 as a service engineer, where he was instrumental in bringing safety and customer service to a new standard. He brings with him over 15 years in Operations. Ryan is a key contact for customers, assisting customers with mechanical issues in and around their steam equipment, including questions about their steam usage.

Jodie Hon, E.I.T. – Project Engineer – Jodie Hon joined Creative Energy as a Project Engineer in May 2017.  With three years of experience in the natural gas industry as a Production Engineer for Shell Canada, Jodie brings her skills in project management, stakeholder management, production optimization and water chemistry to the Creative Energy team. Jodie holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
